Privacy notice and terms
Spouse Visa Helper is an independent site. We decide how the information below is used (the data controller). Questions, or a request for a copy of your information or to have it deleted: hello@spousevisahelper.com.

Your tracker, in your browser
The tracker is worked out in your browser. Your answers (including nationality and the date you plan to apply), any names you give, each document’s status, ticks and notes, and documents you add are saved in this browser’s local storage, so the tracker is there when you come back. Unless you save it to an account, none of it is sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
If you save your tracker to an account
You can save the tracker to an account with just your email address, so you can open it on another device. We email you a sign-in link, and a cookie keeps you signed in on that device for six months. We store your email address and the tracker, both encrypted, with Supabase (our database) in Zurich, Switzerland, and the link email is sent through Resend.
Signed in, you can attach scans or photos to each document. Each file is encrypted before it’s stored, up to 4 MB each and 100 MB in all. Only you, signed in, can open them. We don’t look at them, and they aren’t used for anything else.
“Download everything” gives you your email address and tracker as a file. “Delete my account” deletes the tracker, every scan and your email address straight away.
If you ask about the rules
A question you type into “Ask about the rules” is sent, with the list of documents your tracker shows (not your nationality, names, notes or scans), to Anthropic’s Claude through OpenRouter, routed only to servers that keep nothing once the answer is written. We don’t store the question or the answer; the conversation is gone when you leave the page. Questions about a refusal, an overstay or a conviction aren’t sent anywhere: the page answers them itself. Please don’t type names, passport numbers or anything else that identifies you.
Visit counts
We count page views and a few actions (starting the questions, making a tracker, a document becoming done, adding a scan or a document of your own, printing, asking a question about the rules, asking for a check) to learn whether the site is useful. An event carries the kind of application (from outside or inside the UK, married or not, which kinds of income) and how many documents the tracker has. It never carries your nationality, names, dates, notes or anything you type. We use no cookies and no advertising trackers.
We also record how pages are used (where people click and scroll, and what the page shows) with PostHog, in the EU, to find the parts that confuse people. Anything you type is hidden in these recordings, pages with your saved details or documents aren’t recorded, and recording uses no cookies. Recordings are deleted within 90 days.
If you ask for a check
The request form keeps your name, email address, whether you’re applying from inside or outside the UK, where you’re up to, and the date you plan to apply if you give one, with the page you arrived on.
We use these to reply to you and to count requests. They are stored with Supabase (our database) in Zurich, Switzerland, and an alert email is sent to us through Resend. If you go on to have a check, the adviser becomes responsible for your documents under their own terms. Otherwise we delete your request by 15 July 2027.
Please don’t send documents, passport numbers or anything about your immigration history through this site. You have the right to see, correct or delete what we hold, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Terms of use
Information, not immigration advice. Spouse Visa Helper isn’t registered with the Immigration Advice Authority and can’t tell you whether your application will succeed. The check below is done by a regulated adviser. The checklist lists documents the Immigration Rules and GOV.UK ask for in the situation you describe, as they stood on 7 November 2026. It doesn’t consider your particular circumstances and doesn’t say whether you meet any requirement. Rules and fees change; check GOV.UK before you apply.
Only an adviser registered with the Immigration Advice Authority, or a solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive, may give immigration advice in the UK. The paid check is given by such an adviser, under their own terms, which they’ll send you before you agree.
We aren’t responsible for a decision on your application. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
