For a spouse or partner visa, every payslip’s pay has to show up in the bank statements for the same months. Drop both in and see which payments are there.

What the rule asks for
For a job held six months or more: six months of payslips, bank statements for the same months showing the pay going in, and a letter from the employer. For a job under six months old, the payslips from any job in the last 12 months. The newest payslip and statement must be dated within 28 days of the day you apply. It’s all in Appendix FM-SE, paragraphs 1 and 2, and on GOV.UK’s proof of income page.

Do my payslips have to match my bank statements for a spouse visa?
For a job, Appendix FM-SE asks for personal bank statements for the same months as the payslips, showing the salary paid into an account in the UK partner’s name or both of yours. This page looks for each payslip’s net pay in the statements.
How does it decide a payment is the payslip’s pay?
It looks for the payslip’s net pay to the penny. Found from 3 days before the pay date to 7 after, it shows as found; found on another date, it asks whether that’s the one. It never decides for you.
Are my payslips and statements uploaded?
No. The files are read in your browser, and nothing in them is sent anywhere or kept. Close the page and they’re gone.
What if my payslip is a scan or a photo?
A scan has no text to read, so its row stays empty for you to type the pay date and net pay in. Paper payslips can be added by hand the same way.
How recent do the payslips and statements have to be?
The newest must be dated no earlier than 28 days before you apply (Appendix FM-SE paragraph 1(l)). The page shows that date against your newest payslip and statement.
